This was certainly an unusual auction for Direct Auctions as it was the first time ever we had showcased yachts. Having been approached only a few days earlier by Andalucia Yachts, the decision was made to enter 3 lots into the auction.
A bid on lot 23 'Our New Toy' a 58 foot Squadron, was made only 20 minutes to the start of the auction by an overseas bidder.
The auction itself was well attended with approximately 40 people in the room. A mixed room of sellers, interested parties and possible buyers, the TV cameras may have put some people off the bidding.
However, the auction house went into the auction with 2 lots already sold and last minute interested parties requesting information.
In the room, there was very little interest in bids, this is typical in these times when buyers wait to see what sells, what has bids on it and what is left after the auction in the hope they may pcik up a property below reserve price.
One lady was keen on a property, a townhouse in Aloha, Nueva Andalucia, and her bid came close. The next day she viewed, raised her bid but as yet it has not been accepted.
A further 3 offers on different properties were placed, with the owners considering the options.
The next auction is due to take place on the 27th November in Marbella
